It has been a year since Bali’s economy was crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic. Bali economic growth in fourth quarter 2020 shrank -12.21%, the worse than other 34 provinces in Indonesia.
At the end of 2020, Governor of Bali, Mr. I Wayan Koster and Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Mr. Sandiaga Uno campaigned to make preparations for Bali tourism opening through Bali Bali program.
BPR Lestari agreed to support Bali Bangkit program, by providing working capital financing addressed to tourism sector, which is, sector that most affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are called to contribute through this working capital financing. We provide Rp 1.2 Trillion especially for all entrepreneur in tourism sector. This is not enough for all needs. But, hopefully, with this small amount could become a trigger for Bali economy revival”, said Pribadi Budiono, CEO BPR Lestari Bali during press conference with media on Thursday (25/3).
“Optimistically, this year Bali tourism will begin to open. We have to start prepare and reorganize ourself and business to welcome all the tourism. Personally, I really appreciate BPR Lestari Bali support for all entrepreneurs”, said Mr. I Made Ariandi, Chairman of the Bali Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
The same wishes also delivered by Mrs. Ni Wayan Parwati Asih, Vice Secretary of Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali. “Really appreciate it. This sector is really affected by, but this year seems to be a recovery time. Collaboration and cooperation with banking is to speed up their recovery specially in hotel and restaurant business sector”, said her.
During press conference that held in BPR Lestari Sanur Office, also attended by Mr. Pande Agus Permana Widura, Head of Bali District Regional Committed Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI). “All entrepreneurs are ready to reorganize their business in this year. We are sure, cooperation with banking is to boost Bali economy recovery”, said him.
Three main tourism areas in Bali is already designated as free travel corridors or green zone of COVID-19, that are Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua. This makes they will opened their business for foreign tourist firm starting August 17th 2021.
“Hopefully, Bali Bangkit program is really useful so we are ready to welcoming the opening of recovery Bali economy”, closed Pribadi.
